FINAL REPORT

FINAL REPORT OF THE TEAM CLARINSCOLA

TOPIC CHOSEN_ Fundamentals

Know-evaluate-participate are the three key words that have guided our actions.
To KNOW the reality of the EU and its institutions, especially the European Parliament.
To EVALUATE  what means, its historical significance, the values that give shape to it.
To PARTICIPATE in its democratic construction. Promote the participation in the elections.

We believe that, especially nowadays, the European Parliament should promote policies to revitalize public adherence to the reality of the EU. The severe crisis that some countries, like ours, is going through is also affecting the evaluation that people make of the role of Europe. Today the Euroscepticism is growing.

Without getting into the underlying causes that lead to this situation and that the outgoing Parliament must address and correct, we understand that it is presently more necessary than ever to promote the policies that help to bring the reality of the European Union to citizens and involve them positively in their construction. Basically, our subject is the same as the one chosen by the Euroscola Competition.

Without losing sight of this perspective , we have also wanted to use as a strong idea the fact  that this year of elections to the European Parliamen is also the centenary of the First World War,  catastrophe with many different resonances in Europe. This historical coincidence is very suggestive to understand and value the meaning of the European Union.

TWO TEAMS - TWO LANGUAGES

From this approach , shared by the two groups from our school that have participated in EUROSCOLA , and following the advice and guidance they have given us from the communication equipment Euroscola in Madrid, we have decided to deal this adventure with a group that has participated in Castilian ( Puxaeuropa ) and other that has participated in English ( Clarinscola ) . We believe that the effort made has been compensated with the bilingual character that have had all the initiatives and materials made. ( To see the activity of the group that has participated in spanish see http://puxaeuropa.blogspot.com.es/

INITIATIVES – MATERIALS DEVELOPED

·         THE EXHIBITION. The main initiative has been a traveling exhibition entitled "1914_2014. From the trenches to the polls. In memoriam, vote Europe" is a play on contrasts between that Europe faced in the First World War and Europe today call to vote unitedly. It is basically a call to become aware of the very foundations of the European Union, its historical significance and its values. And also, a way to interpellate from there and promote the participation of citizens in the upcoming elections, all playing with the perspective of what the youth had to live in 1914 and the clear difference to the reality of today.

I want to thank the students to continue the initiative although Euroscola competition has now ended and also appreciate the good reception of our idea in the schools, which is also a recognition of the work done by students.

The sources used are the official leaflets elaborated by the Parliament. The eurobus also contains a participatory dynamic game and it is set up in all the places in which the exhibition takes place.
